Cultural Centre |
The former Grande Casino of Ericeira existed from
1919 to 1927 and was later transformed into cinema. |
The Harbor Wall |
The imposing harbor wall semicircles the Fishermen Beach. Overlooking the sea, the building of the harbor master in its colonial style still reminds an glorious époque, when Ericeira was considered one of the most important harbors of Portugal. |
Santo António Chapel |
Santo António Chapel, also known as Our Lady of the Blessed Journey Chapel, already existed in 1609. A stone, placed above the main portal says the chapel was renovated in 1844. This chapel is the center of attractions at the annual festivities in honor of Our Lady of the Blessed Journey, organized by the local fishermen. |
Holy House of Mercy |
The Holy House of Mercy Church, located in the old center of the village, was built in 1678. Formerly it included the hospital facilities, today home of the Holy House of Mercy museum. Point of interest is the wooden ceiling with paintings dating from the 18th century. |
