Situated amid the UNESCO Sintra Cascais Natural Park yet close to the Atlantic Ocean, the hotel’s stunning location has been integrated into the new design. The emphasis of designers Juan Morro and Guillermo Compte was to compliment the resort’s beautiful surroundings and create the sensation of light and space. With this concept in mind, the two-storey hotel was re-designed incorporating glass ceilings encouraging natural light to accentuate the modern interior design. Creating a sense of space, reception has been incorporated on the first floor, while the cosy yet sophisticated interiors provide a relaxing 5* atmosphere.
The main changes have involved the redecoration of all 200 balconied guest bedrooms and public areas, where carpets, lighting, curtains and wall coverage have all been replaced. Wengé wood is now being used extensively and the hotel’s previous earth colours have been replaced with more modern deep reds, greys and black. Many of the public areas and restaurants now encompass wooden floors and the new wooden terrace area provides an excellent environment for enjoying views over the lakes and 18-hole golf course. |
